During your trip
In the event of a medical emergency, contact the Travel Assistance number immediately using the number on your Wawanesa insurance card. Their expert case managers will:
- Guide you to appropriate care providers
- Confirm coverage eligibility
- Coordinate direct billing whenever possible
- Provide ongoing support throughout your treatment
The CanAssistance medical team will coordinate with you and your healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care until your condition is stable or resolved.
Tip: Keep all medical documents you receive related to your emergency, such as invoices and medical reports. These documents are important for your claim.

After your trip – submitting a claim
Even if you didn’t pay out of pocket, a completed and signed claim form is required. You can submit your claim securely online.
You may receive invoices directly from service providers, even with CanAssistance involved. Do not pay these invoices unless you are instructed by the CanAssistance team. Forward all documents to their claims team and contact their travel claims customer service for support.
