GreenShield Canada Service Update

Update: GreenShield contact centre to reopen on Monday April 22, 2024

Continue to submit Health and Dental claims online and other important information to know.

GreenShield Canada (GSC) administers the Health and Dental claims, billing, and other administrative functions to support Wawanesa Life Group Benefits plans. We are pleased to learn that the strike impacting the unionized employees of GreenShield Canada has ended and their contact centre will reopen on Monday April 22, 2024. Please note that they anticipate higher call volumes than usual at this time.

As they were throughout the strike, Wawanesa online services are available to use and we encourage you to take advantage of them.

Plan Members can continue to submit claims as claims processing continues. At this time, the GSC Call Centre (1-800-665-7076) has adjusted their hours to support members between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm EST. We encourage you to use our online claims submissions for timely processing.

You can submit claims and access information relating to Plan Member coverage through the following services:

Plan Members who are registered for Plan Member Online Claims can download the Wawanesa Life Group Benefits Mobile App for both Apple and Android devices.

Recommended action

Check that your banking information is accurate in the Plan Member Online Claims to ensure smooth payment of your claims.

  • Plan Number
  • WLI Plan Member ID number
  • Date of the service
  • Type of claim you are inquiring about
  • Any other pertinent information needed to review the claim in question
